Thomasville Center for the Arts relies on the generosity of members of our community to work towards our vision of elevating the arts in our area.
Our outreach programs expose over 100,000 school children to the performing and visual arts though Art Reach performances, the Artist-In-Residence program and our partnership with the Marguerite Neel Williams Boys and Girls Club and the Thomasville Community Resource Center. It has been proven that arts education helps students improve cognitive development, inspires motivation and discipline, helps to develop confidence and betters communication and problem-solving skills. Studies have shown that students who have art as part of their curriculum are four times as likely to be recognized for academic achievement.
Our many classes, exhibitions and events for adults, as well as children, improve the quality of life and enhance the culture of Thomasville, bringing out-of-town visitors and making our community a wonderful place to live. The arts our an important feature not just of our local community, but of our national identity, as the arts and cultural industries support close to 5 million jobs in the U.S. and are among our most competivitive industries internationally, producing billions of dollars in export earnings.
