The Thomasville Independent Film Series

Join the Thomasville Center for the Arts together with South Arts Southern Circuit Film Tour, the Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Independent Film Association of America as they bring independent films to Thomasville.  TCA is presenting six highly acclaimed films and their filmmaker’s for an interactive film experience.  View the film, meet the filmmaker and engage in discussion.

Patrons can purchase tickets for the series of six films for $50 per person, $10 per person for individual tickets and $8 per person for groups of six (does not apply to the series).  All show times are 7:30 p.m.

Savannah Moon has created a special dinner menu for movie-goers at $20 per person (alcohol not included).  Reservations for this special night out must be made in advance by calling 227-0081. Dinner seating begins at 6:00 p.m.  See below for movie dates and information.

Our newest partnership with the Tallahassee Film Society is bringing discounts to supporters of the arts. If you are a member of Thomasville Center for the Arts, you can receive discounts on weekly Tallahassee Film Society independent film showings and if you are a member of the Tallahassee Film Society, receive a discounted rate on the Thomasville Independent Film Series Shows.

We Still Live Here, is a documentary following the life of Jessie Little Doe and her work to bring back the language of the Wampanoag Indians, a language that hadn't been spoken in 100 years. Her research led her daughter to be the first new native speaker and the reemergence of this lost language.

MARS is the creative story of the fictitious first manned mission to Mars, where along the way a romantic comedy unfolds as three astronauts race against an artificially intelligent robot to find out what is on the red planet. Told in the style of a graphic novel, but utilizing a unique animation process developed just for the film, beneath the comedy MARS explores humans need to explore.
