Hosted by resident partner, Pines & Palms, The Cotton Pickin’ Plein Air Paint Out is a relaxing, free, open-admission arts event held in the South Georgia towns of Boston, Quitman, and Thomasville. Artists and art lovers, master painters, and beginners will gather this weekend to capture the splendor of the deep South in Autumn. Last year 42 artists enjoyed painting the cotton and sunflowers that were in full bloom. As a participating artist you will be able to paint historic homes, towns and churches as well as rural farms and fields complete with horses and cows (and even a hog farm).
The Cotton Pickin’ Plein Air Paint Out starts at 9AM, Thursday, October 19 at the Boston Community Center in Boston, GA. It ends with a juried show with cash prizes and a sale on Saturday, 3PM at Studio 209, our new digs in the Creative District of Thomasville, GA. A 30% commission is charged for all work sold or associated with the event and you are responsible for collecting state taxes for any sale. You’ll have maps, restaurant information, and other resources at your fingertips along with a schedule of social events. We also have a limited number of discount housing options available if you register early.
